Planning A Red Wedding Without Making Big Mistakes
If you have gone to a wedding in the recent past, you may have noticed the new trend of bride’s planning a red wedding. Red wedding dresses have long been common tradition in China, but around the world these beautiful gowns are now popping up more and more. If you are considering a red wedding of your own, first think through the common mistakes that brides make with this color selection.
Before you shrug your shoulders and assume that planning a wedding with lots of red is just the same as planning any other wedding, you need to consider some of the biggest pitfalls that other brides often stumble on. Since red is so bright and vibrant, it can very easily be overdone.
Overdoing it is one of the biggest tragedies a bride can face, so listen up if you are planning to walk down the aisle draped in luxurious red this year!
The first common mistake involves matching your wedding dress to your personality. We already covered that red is a very vibrant color, and for that reason it will not look right if you are a very quiet, reserved person and everyone in the audience knows that. You want your dress to match your personality and highlight your beauties.
If you happen to have a more reserved personality, go for ivory or white with lots of exquisite red detailing. This will still keep with the red wedding theme while matching your personal style beautifully.
Remember, you have to carry your dress very well if you are to be the knockout you dream of being! A solid bright red dress is rather hard to carry well without a big personality.
The next big mistake that some people make is to cut the budget too much when it comes to the dress. When you go with white or ivory you can purchase a low priced gown made with cheaper materials and look just as stunning as if you were wearing a million dollar dress. This just isn’t the case with a color like red.
You don’t want to fall into the trap of a red dress that looks cheap, even it was! This means selecting higher quality materials and going with a deeper colored rosy red rather than something that looks like it came right out of the crayon box.
The last mistake to avoid is going way overboard with too much red. The most stunning weddings are created when the red is well balanced with other colors, both in the wedding party’s outfits and in the surrounding decorations. You don’t want literally everything in sight to be plain red.
One option is to go with a solid red dress and contrast with your groom in a solid white tuxedo. You may even want to dress your bridesmaids in white or ivory with red detailing, instead of solid red like your dress.
Some of the best accent shades are white, ivory, chocolate, and some shades of pink.
If you feel you have what it takes to strut the aisle in solid red, then go for it! If not, then go with a more tamed but equally stunning white with red detailing. Either way, you should enjoy the process of planning your red wedding.
