It’s therefore a good idea to gain expert knowledge in a particular field within the industry. This will immediately make you stand out from the crowd when it comes to job applications. If you can show an above average level of expertise in background creation, character animation or sound effects to name but a few, you stand a much better chance of getting a job.

You have to accept that your very first job will probably not pay a lot and you will have to work long hours. You should view this as a way to get valuable experience in order to launch your career. There is a steep learning curve in this industry. After ten years you will probably realize that most of the knowledge that you use in your job was gained during on-the-job training.
